bleFIND ("the App") helps you locate nearby Bluetooth devices using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) scanning, showing real-time signal strength to find lost or misplaced items. bleFIND also offers an optional premium feature, Family & Friends, that lets you share your live location with people you invite to a private circle.
The core device finder works entirely on your device with no account. The Family & Friends feature is opt-in, requires an account, and is described in Section 4.
The App scans for BLE signals (device names, signal strength, manufacturer IDs) from nearby devices. All BLE scan data, your saved devices, and scan history are processed and stored entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store this data on our servers, apart from the limited diagnostics described below.
Location for saved devices: the App uses your device's location to record where each saved device was last seen, so you can navigate back to it. With your permission ("Allow all the time"), this includes when the App is closed or not in use, for example when your earbuds disconnect. These locations are stored only on your device and are never sent to our servers.
Diagnostics: the App sends error and performance reports to our servers so we can keep it reliable. These include the app version, device platform, technical error details and, when you are signed in, your account ID. They can include Bluetooth identifiers of your saved devices. They do not include your location.
If you choose to use Family & Friends, you create an account using your email address (we send a one-time sign-in code; no password is stored). We store your email address and subscription status to provide the service.
Family & Friends only collects location data after you explicitly agree and turn on sharing for a circle. When sharing is on, the App periodically sends the following to our servers so the members of your circle can see it:
Suggested places: from your own location history in a circle, the App may suggest places you visit often (for example "You often spend time here — name this place?"). Only you see these suggestions. A suggested place is shared with your circle only if you choose to name it; dismissed suggestions are not shown again.
Alerts to your circle: depending on the circle's plan, members may be notified when someone arrives at or leaves a saved place, when a member's battery is low, when a member's location hasn't updated for a while, when someone new joins the circle, and when a member presses SOS.
Who can see it: only the members of circles you join or create. Every member can see who is in the circle. Members only see location history recorded after they joined. We never sell or share this data with advertisers or third parties.
You are in control: you can pause sharing at any time with the in-app toggle, and leaving a circle stops sharing with that circle immediately. While sharing is paused, no location is sent and other members see you as paused, without a location. The circle owner can remove members.
Background location: with your permission ("Allow all the time"), the App reports your location while running in the background so your circle stays up to date. Android shows an ongoing "Sharing your location" notification while this is active.
Live location is kept only as your latest position. Location history (the breadcrumb trail) is retained for 30 days (2 days in circles on the free plan) and then automatically deleted. You can delete your account at any time in the App's Settings or at the link below, which removes your account, location data and circle memberships; circles you own are passed to another member.
We do not sell or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers. Location data is shared only with the circle members you choose. We use a transactional email provider to send sign-in codes and notification delivery (Expo/Google/Apple) to deliver push alerts to your circle.
We do not use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs. We collect basic crash and error diagnostics to keep the App working.
bleFIND is not directed at children under 13. Family & Friends should only be used to share a child's location with their consent and the consent of a parent or guardian, in accordance with applicable law.
You may request access to or deletion of your data at any time. Account and Family & Friends data can be deleted in-app or by emailing us. Account deletion is available at api.bleguard.com/delete-account.
We may update this policy. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
